What Does a Publicity Chair Do? By Barbara Haney

As the publicity chair, I ensure that section activities receive publicity in appropriate forums and result in drawing new participants to our section.

Our primary publicity is through the ASQ website: all of our monthly meetings appear there, so that the overall “big” ASQ event calendar shows our local section meetings. This helps current members, who are relocating or are temporarily in the Phoenix area, find our section and join our meetings.

Other forms of publicity include our Facebook page (ASQ Phoenix Section), our Linkedin profile, and cross postings by members into these and similar channels.

Future plans include construction of a presentation which would be given to local business groups, showcasing quality as a topic, certification as an employee development activity, and our section.
