BIO:  Rob Woods has been a change agent for 20 years in industries as diverse as non-profit, higher education, financial services, and government. Rob left the private sector in 2012 to launch Arizona’s Government Transformation Office (GTO). GTO started as the State of Arizona’s lean consulting team and has evolved into the state’s center of excellence for the Arizona Management System (AMS). The goal of AMS is to engage 33,000+ state team members every day to reflect on performance and eliminate waste.

TOPIC: Continuous Improvement and Lean Activities at State of Arizona

ABSTRACT: Rob will discuss the Arizona Management System as an enterprise wide, intentional management system. He will discuss the successes and challenges of implementing a lean management system in government and will invite the group to share similar lessons learned in transformation. Rob will also focus on the role of lean professionals in transforming organizations – “sometimes less is more.”
