Dear ASQ-0704 members,
Wow the first quarter of 2018 has moved past already. As a part of our section’s leadership we continue to move forward with our plans to provide the Quality resources you need.
As noted last month, our team is going try to cover some of the benefits ASQ has to offer. This month we will cover the section website and social media communication. Our intention here is to “Interact with the ASQ Phoenix section to build a stronger community of practice.” Currently, in order to send a common message we have:
The Section Website, https://asqphoenix.org/, is the primary source to learn what is going on or whom to contact for Section events and information. The website also has information and links for career enhancement plus an archive of previous programs and general information.
The Sun Dial newsletter is emailed to all members who Opt-in via their ASQ profile settings to receive communications directly from the Section each month. Besides the monthly update of events and leadership there is news from ASQ, conference and seminar information, and featured articles. See the Newsletter Archive.
LinkedIn Group, https://www.linkedin.com/
Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/
Twitter feed, https://twitter.com/ASQPhoenix
Visit these sites often to see the latest information on what is going on in your section and in the broader world of quality. Please let us know how we are doing and what information you would like to see. We look forward to finding you there.
This month’s Program presentation topic is on streamlining business processes and eliminating wastes by Vic Nanda. Something we are always working to do, but the emphasis with this method is to accelerate change. In addition,Vic will be joined by a special guest who will provide a report on the analysis of risk factors for heart disease based on data from the US Center for Disease Control. This should be an interesting application of statistical techniques with common data.
As a reminder ASQ’s WCQI, the largest annual gathering of world Quality leaders is in Seattle this year, starting April 30. There is still time to register and arrange your travel plans.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our future Section events, or on-line participating in one of our many social media networks!
Dave Gibson – Chair ASQ-0704, Valley of the Sun.
