Dear ASQ-0704 members,
Hard to believe it is August already. Once again as the year moves into the second half we are continuing to look for Executive Committee team members for 2020. All of the openings are not yet set at this time so if you would be interested in serving the Section please contact us at email@example.com to learn more about each available position. A more detailed list of vacant positions will be published on our websites following the EC’s August 3 Planning Meeting.
This month our Section will take the second major step in the ASQ GCC Transition plan. This will be a change from our traditional bank to an ASQ national on-line finance system. Admittedly this should be mostly transparent to the general membership, but it will require some of our Executive Committee to participate in training and the transfer of funds. ASQ is moving to a single system that will be common to all its member units (sections, divisions, forums) and enable our leadership to use modern banking tools like debit cards and electronic banking transactions for faster, more convenient payments along with collecting secure payments for events and activities. For you, hopefully this allows the EC team to provide more opportunities for sharing Quality Body of Knowledge (QBoK).
Once again I want to share our most recent Program meeting satisfaction information results. The chart below represents the feedback we have received thus far this year. In general, the presentations are holding around the overall satisfaction goal we have targeted, though the response rates are lower than desired. Please continue to let us know how we are doing, and how/where we can improve.
Finally, this month our Program speaker will be Dan McCarville, a Professor at ASU. The topic of “Constrained Wine Blending Optimization – Must Use All of the Grapes” should make for an interesting discussion of experimental design techniques in an industry of subjective quality attributes. For more information please see the “August 8, 2019 Program” post on our website.
We look forward to you being able to join us.
Dave Gibson – Chair ASQ-0704, Valley of the Sun.
