ASQ, like the general public, is concerned about the growing spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). This is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation. I am reaching out to assure you that the safety and well-being of our members and staff remains our highest priority.
At the forefront of our attention is WCQI. We have had many discussions surrounding how ASQ would proceed with our annual conference and have made the decision to cancel. WCQI will not be held in May 2020.
This decision was not taken lightly, but ASQ’s Board of Directors views this choice to be in the best interests and for the safety of all those who planned to attend in Columbus. Yesterday’s decision by Ohio’s governor to prohibit mass gatherings (100 or more people) confirmed that cancelling WCQI is what’s best at this time. Ohio is doing what’s right for the public, and we support the decision.
For those who have registered for the conference, you do not need to take any action to cancel. ASQ will handle the cancellation process and you will have an option to have the funds held on your account through December 31, 2021 or be refunded. If you’d like a refund, please contact email@example.com.
In the coming days we will have more to share, including details on our annual business meeting which was scheduled to be held at WCQI. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through this, and please take good care of yourselves.
Austin S. Lin
Chair, ASQ Board of Directors
